The third attempt of JEE Main 20 July 2021, the country’s biggest engineering entrance exam for BE/B.Tech was held on Tuesday in 334 cities across the country. The exam was conducted in two shifts in computer-based mode.

Brajesh Maheshwari Sir, Director of ALLEN Career Institute, said that based on the students’ feedback and the feedback received on CSAT, Physics was tough, Chemistry was easy. While Math was lengthy in the evening shift.

This time in the JEE Main July attempt, the accretion reason pattern questions were asked. Also, this time students have been given the facility that if the language of the question is not clear in the regional or English language, then they can change the medium of the paper as per their convenience. This facility has been provided to the students for the first time in the history of JEE Main. In the evening, Physics was easier than the morning shift.

Chemistry paper in the morning shift was easy. According to the students, the chemistry paper was NCERT based. In Physical Chemistry, most of the questions were from the integer section. Some tricky questions were asked from the Mole concept. Apart from this, the topics of Liquid Solution, Thermo, and Kinetics were covered in Physical. Inorganic chemistry, questions came from IUPAC, GOC, Polymer. Apart from this, Toluene Regent, Williamson Ether Synthesis, and some other good questions were asked from Regents. Similarly, some interesting questions were included from Inorganic Chemistry. Most of the questions were asked from Block Chemistry, keeping CFT and VBT in Coordination Chemistry, Distillation from Metallurgy, Copper Nitrate in Salt Analysis. In the evening shift, questions were asked on JEE Main topics one each from Chemistry Everyday life and Environmental, uses of Hydrogen in Inorganic Chemistry, Coordination Chemistry, and Reaction of Copper Plus Two with Potassium Iodide and Reaction in Organic Chemistry. In Physical Chemistry, topics like Equilibrium, KSP, Surface Chemistry were covered.


According to the students, this paper was tough from Moderate, and questions were asked in the paper by making a proper combination of the NCERT 11th and 12th class syllabus. There were only numerical-based questions while there were no theoretical questions. The maximum number of questions were asked from Mechanics. Two questions from Optics, 2-3 from Alternate Current, one from EMI, and 2-3 questions from Modern Physics were included. Whereas there were no questions from Fluid, Magnetism, and SHM. The question related to zener diode was from the Topic Principal of Communication of JEE Main. While the evening shift consisted of both theory and numerical questions. In this, 1 question was asked from Optics, 2-3 from Mechanics, 2-3 from Electrostatic, and 2 from Modern Physics. Question related to zener diode was also asked in the evening shift.


Some questions in the Maths paper were from previous years’ JEE Main and Advanced papers. The maximum time of the students was spent in solving the Maths paper because it was lengthy. Most of the questions came from Calculus and Vector 3D. According to the students, there were no questions on Differentiation in the morning shift. Apart from this, three-four questions came from the conic section. Questions were asked from the topics of JEE Main, Set and Relation, Binomial, Probability, Mean and Boolean Expression. In the evening shift, all the questions in the integer part were lengthy while the objective section consisted of easy and difficult questions.
