Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) 2023, a scheme of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for admissions to NITs, centrally funded technical institutions and other premier technical institutions (other than IITs) opened the DASA UG 2023 Registrations application portal for the UG and PG programs today, on 12 June 2023.

Along with applications, DASA has also released Seat Matrix and UG Counselling Schedule for the academic year 2023-24.

As notified earlier, DASA-2023 will be coordinated by NIT Calicut. Earlier this month, DASA released the official brochure for UG and PG courses. Following the pre-planned schedule, the registrations for participating in DASA Counselling 2023 have already commenced.

Those seeking admission under DASA scheme have to register online, fill out an online application form and make the fee payment through SWIFT/ E- Payment/ NEFT/ RTGS transfer on or before the deadline mentioned in the schedule on DASA website. Further, online applications and documents should be uploaded to DASA website through the portal only. It is important to note that only registered applicants will be considered for admission under DASA 2023 scheme.

How To Participate at DASA-UG Counselling 2023?

To register for DASA-UG Counselling 2023, the applicants need to follow the given steps:

Create an account at www.dasanit.org
To register, the candidate needs to enter the JEE-2023 (Main) Application Number and Date of Birth.
Check your registered email id and click the web link.
The application number of JEE Mains will be your username.
Once the correct details are entered, click Create my account.
An email will be sent to your email address with a link and your credentials to complete the registration.
Enter Applicant ID and Password
Enter Confirm Password.
Once correct details are entered, account creation is complete.
Applicants are advised to note the Applicant ID and password for future logins (for completing the application form and checking the status of the application, etc.) and to keep it confidential.
Fill in the required details; Applicants are required to upload the following:
- Latest passport size photograph in JPG format (size ~ 3.5cmx3.5cm, file size < 100kB),
- Scanned signature of applicant in JPG format (file size<100 kB).
Submit the completed Registration Form.
Download and take a print of the application for your own records.

DASA Seat Matrix 2023

The DASA Seat Matrix 2023 configures the distribution of 4283 seats across 55+ technical institutions in India. Out of which, a total of 1426 seats are reserved for the CIWG category.

DASA UG Counselling Schedule 2023

DASA will disclose the ranks based on JEE Main rank declared by NTA) for only those students who have filled and finally submitted their online registration form for DASA 2023 on 1st July 2023 at 5.00 PM. The first round of counselling is scheduled to begin from 11th July 2023, onwards.

DASA UG Brouchure 2023 Released: Check Details

Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) has released the brochure for Undergraduate counselling 2023 on 5th June 2023. As already informed, NIT Calicut will be conducting the DASA Counselling 2023 for this academic year.

DASA conducts counselling for admissions of various Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin (POIs)/ Non-Resident Indians (NRI)/ Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) in various prestigious engineering institutions such as NITs, IIITs, etc.

Those seeking admission under the DASA scheme have to register online, fill out an online application form and make the fee payment through SWIFT/ E- Payment/ NEFT/ RTGS transfer on or before the deadline mentioned in the schedule on the DASA website.

Academic Eligibility Criteria To Participate in DASA Counselling 2023:

As per the DASA UG Brouchure 2023, to participate in DASA Counselling 2023:

Applicant must have passed the qualifying examination, i.e. Senior Secondary [10+2] or equivalent from any system of education as recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (www.aiu.ac.in) with specified subjects.
Applicants appearing for the qualifying examination in the academic year 2022-23 and expecting their final results latest by December 31, 2023, may also apply.
Applicant should have successfully completed Mathematics, Physics and one of the subjects (Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) in 12th with 60% marks (CGPA of 6.0 out of 10) in the aggregate, as applicable in the respective boards.
Applicant should have a valid JEE (Main)-2023 rank.

Documents Required for DASA Counselling 2023:

Applicant’s Passport
Proof of date of birth
Mark Sheet of 10th, 11th and 12th (or) Equivalent examination(s)
Certificate from School authorities as proof of completion of 11th and 12th Standard or equivalent.
Percentage/CGPA equivalence provided by the principal examination authorities, in case of CGPA on a different scale than that specified, is awarded OR if only grades are awarded.
Proof of 2 years of education (11th and 12th or equivalent) in the foreign country in case of NRI.
JEE Main -2023 final scorecard showing rank
Details & Proof of fee payment in case of payment made via SWIFT transfer
In case the 12th standard or equivalent is not completed yet, the candidate has to give an undertaking in the online application.

Additional Documents Required by CIWG Students:

Copy of the passport of the parent working in the Gulf.
Copy of Parent’s visa with validity on any date in the year 2023.
Copy of Parent’s Work Permit with validity on any date in the year 2023.
Certificate from the company/organisation as proof that the parent is working in the Gulf country.
If a parent has been working in the Gulf till any date in the year 2023, a certificate would be required stating the same.

NIT Calicut to Initiate DASA 2023 Applications, Counselling to Start from June 12th

The wait of the students aspiring to study in various elite institutions of India has finally come to an end. The official website of the Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA), which had been under maintenance for the past few weeks, has finally been updated with the latest information for eligible students planning to participate in DASA 2023 Application Process.

In the previous year, 2022, NIT Warangal held admissions for various UG and PG courses under the scheme. As per the mentions on the official website, “The admissions to various UG and PG programmes of premier Institutes of India under the DASA scheme will be coordinated by National Institute of Technology Calicut, India for the year 2023-2024.”

The application process for participation in DASA Counselling 2023 is scheduled to start from 12 June 2023 onwards for the academic year 2023-24. Further information about the closing of the application, availability of payment window, counselling schedule, etc., are still awaited.

DASA, commenced by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Govt. of India, is a scheme for ‘Admissions to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions and other Premier Technical Institutions (Other than IITs)’.

The scheme is specially designed to provide admissions to Foreign Students, Persons of Indian Origin living abroad (POIs), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf (CIWG), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI). Students have to qualify DASA 2023 admission procedure to get admission into the aforementioned prestigious engineering institutions of India.

For the students residing in United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq and Iran, the scheme ensures that 1/3rd of seats from the DASA quota are reserved for Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf (CIWG).

With this, the children of Indian expatriates (NRIs / PIOs / OCIs) in Gulf countries seeking admissions at the premier Indian Institutes (NITs / IIITs / CFTIs / SPAs etc.) have better chances, provided they fill all the eligibility criteria under the DASA 2023 scheme.
