										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Oman is located on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula in West Asia. The country shares the land borders with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. Oman has a population of about 5.28 million as of 2024, which is a 4.60% population increase from 2023; Oman, with its Indian expat population comprising approximately 20% of its inhabitants, stands as a home away from home for around 9 lakh Indians as of 2023. The majority of Indians in Oman are from Kerala, which is around 60%.</p>

<h3><strong>Indians in Oman:</strong></h3>
<p>With its rich history, welcoming culture and growing opportunities, Oman has become a popular destination for Indians seeking a better lifestyle, quality education and promising career prospects. In Oman, Indian expatriates come from various professions and businesses. Approximately 25% of Indian expatriates are unskilled workers, 30% are semi-skilled workers, 35% are skilled workers, and 10% are professionals, including engineers, bankers, financial experts, managers, executives, and businesspeople. Around 2000 Doctors work in different hospitals and healthcare centres in the country.</p>
<h4><strong>Indians in Oman: Lifestyle | Cost of Living | Career Options</strong></h4>
<p>Oman has an approximately 43.56% expat population, mainly Indians, British, Americans, Canadians, Australians, New Zealand and South Africans. It also allows you to make friends with expats and locals through social clubs and gatherings.</p>
<p>Oman celebrates its local traditions while embracing multiculturalism. Indian finds a sense of belonging as there are temples, Gurudwaras and churches. They can also celebrate all their festivals without issues unless they violate any rules.</p>
<p>Oman is known for its safety and respect for law and order, which makes it a family-friendly country for expats.</p>
<p>While Oman is affordable in comparison to other Gulf countries, the cost of living varies depending on the city and the lifestyle. Indian families usually find good value in accommodation and other essential things required for living.</p>
<h4><strong>Education for Indians in Oman:</strong></h4>
<p>In 1970, there were only three formal schools with 900 students in the state. The national education program expanded rapidly during the 1970s and the 1980s. In the years 2006-2007, about 560,000 students were enrolled in 1053 public schools, and about 65,000 were enrolled in private schools.</p>

<li>Like other countries, in Oman, there are also two types of schools- public and private.</li>
<li>Currently, 1130* public schools are catering to 600,000* and 640* private schools, including international schools catering to 148,464* students.</li>
<li>The international schools in Oman mainly cater to expatriate students from the US, UK, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and other countries and follow different curricula, for, e.g., American, British, French, International Baccalaureate, and the CBSE (Indian).</li>

<li>The public schools in Oman are almost gender-segregated, and starting from the second cycle of basic education, most of the schools cater to Omani students, thus following the Arabic &amp; Islamic curriculum.</li>

<li>A medical degree takes around six to seven years to complete.</li>
