JEE Advanced 2025 Exam Date Announced: Check Complete Schedule

IIT Kanpur has announced the dates for the JEE Advanced 2025 yesterday (2 Nov 2024) on JEE Advanced official website. As per the latest announcement, the JEE Advanced exam will be conducted on 18 May 2025 (Sunday).

The JEE Advanced 2025 Exam will consist of two papers (Paper 1 & Paper 2), each of which will last three hours.

Paper 1: 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM (IST)

Paper 2: 14:30 PM to 17:30 PM (IST)

JEE Advanced Exam 2025:

JEE Advanced exam is the entrance exam for admission to bachelor’s degree programs at various Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). There are a total of 23 IITs in the country, offering approximately 50,000 seats across various engineering and integrated courses.

To gain admission to these IITs, candidates must first clear the JEE Main exam and then apply for and successfully pass the JEE Advanced examination.

IIT Kanpur has also provided updates on the eligibility criteria and syllabus for the exam. The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has retained the rule limiting the number of attempts to two.

Exciting news for all the JEE aspirants. The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has released the JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility Criteria on the official website, jeeadv.ac.in for Indian and foreign nationals. A major change has been introduced in the attempt limit for the JEE Advanced. As per the new guidelines, candidates can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of three times in three consecutive years.

The JEE Advanced 2025 exam is likely to be held on either May 26 or June 2, 2025.

JEE Advanced 2025 Revised Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit:

A candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2000, are eligible to appear in the JEE Advanced 2025 exam. However, candidates for SC, ST and PwD categories have been relaxed for five years, meaning they should be born on or after October 1, 1995.

Number of Attempts:

A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of three times in three consecutive years.

Students who have already been admitted to an IIT through the JoSSA counselling will not be eligible to take the JEE Advanced 2025 exam. However, students who have qualified for the JEE Main and have secured admission to an NIT will be allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam.

Educational Criteria:

To be eligible for JEE Advanced, a candidate must have taken Class XII (or equivalent) exam for the first time in 2023, 2024, or 2025, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.

Participants who first wrote their Class XII (or equivalent) exams in 2022 or earlier are not eligible to participate in the JEE Advanced 2025.

Percentage Criteria:

The percentage distribution for candidates shortlisting across various categories is as follows:

GEN-EWS candidates make up to 10%
OBC-NCL candidates make up to 27%
SC candidates make up to 15%
ST candidates make to 7.5%

The remaining 40.5% is open to all.

A 5% horizontal reservation within the five categories is allocated for the PwD candidates.
