What Should Candidates Check Before Filling Choices?

Candidates should shortlist colleges carefully rather than choosing a seat based only on its availability. Before locking preferences, review the course, institute, quota, category, fees, location, and admission conditions. Also confirm eligibility and the applicable MCC rules in the official information bulletin and current notices.

• Check whether the vacancy matches your course and eligible category.
• Review the fee structure and other costs, especially for deemed universities.
• Order preferences based on genuine interest and your ability to join.
• Save a copy of the submitted choices and follow the portal’s locking instructions.
• If allotted a seat, download the allotment letter and report within the official deadline.

Do not assume that an unfilled seat guarantees admission. Allotment depends on the counselling rules, eligibility, choices submitted, and the final seat-allocation process. Candidates should rely on MCC notices for binding instructions about participation, joining, and consequences of not reporting.

Which Documents Are Needed for NEET UG 2026 Counselling Reporting?

Candidates who are allotted a seat must report to their college with the documents listed in the official MCC guidelines and their allotment letter. The exact requirements can vary by quota and category, but candidates should generally keep the following ready:

• NEET UG 2026 admit card
• NEET UG 2026 scorecard or rank letter
• Seat allotment letter issued by MCC
• Class 10 certificate or any other valid proof of date of birth
• Class 12 marksheet and pass certificate
• A valid photo identity proof
• Passport-size photographs in the specified format
• Category or reservation certificate, where applicable
• Any additional certificates required under the eligibility rules for the allotted seat

Carry all original documents along with the required number of photocopies. Before reporting, also confirm with the allotted institution whether it needs any extra forms or certificates, so there are no delays on the day of admission.
