For JEE Advanced 2025, candidates should be born on or after October 1, 2000. There’s a five-year age relaxation for SC, ST, and PwD candidates, meaning they should be born on or after October 1, 1995.

An aspirant can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

A candidate should have appeared in the Class XII or equivalent examination in either 2024 or 2025, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.

Students who had appeared in the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025.

An aspirant should NOT admitted to an IIT through JoSAA Counselling 2024, irrespective of whether or not the student continued in the program or accepted a seat by reporting “online”/ at a “reporting centre” in the past.

Candidates whose admission to IIT was cancelled (for any reason) after joining IIT are also NOT eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2025.

Candidates who join a preparatory course at any IIT for the first time in 2024 are eligible to take JEE Advanced 2025.

Guidelines for NRI & OCI/ PIO Card Holders:

Non-Indian citizen students (excluding OCI/PIO candidates) will be considered as foreign nationals. These candidates will have a supernumerary cap of 10% of the total seats in every course.

The reservation of seats under the GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD categories does not apply to these students. There are no separate female supernumerary seats or sub-categories in the foreign national supernumerary seats.

Foreign nationals are not required to take JEE Main 2024 to register for JEE Advanced 2024. They may register for JEE Advanced 2024 directly, subject to meeting other eligibility criteria.

Exam Pattern:

In the JEE Advanced exam, multiple-choice and numerical-based questions were asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to check students’ knowledge and understanding of these subjects. The JEE Advanced 2025 exam consists of two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Below, we are sharing the paper pattern and marking scheme for better understanding.
