Class 10 is one of the most significant and pivotal years that is extremely decisive for the years to come. The performance this year plays an imperative role in laying up the foundations of anyone’s entire career.

It not only plays a vital role in a student’s academic journey but also is detrimental to their personal development. It serves as the foundation for higher education, laying the groundwork for advanced fields for further studies. The standardised board examinations conducted in Class 10 evaluate students’ understanding and proficiency in various subjects, shaping their future academic and career opportunities.

Additionally, it is a critical period for skill development, fostering important abilities such as time management, discipline, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

In its official document, titled “Introduction to Secondary Curriculum”, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) states that the curriculum strives to provide ample scope for holistic, i.e., physical, intellectual and social development of students, emphasises constructivist rather than rote learning by highlighting the importance of hands-on experience; encourage the application of knowledge and skills in real-life problem-solving scenarios; and promote 21st Century Skills, Life Skills, Financial Literacy, Digital Literacy, Health and Wellness, etc.

The syllabus for Class 10 Board Exam 2024 has more or less remained similar to CBSE Class 10 Board exam 2023.

At its core, the curriculum is competency-based, implying that the objective is to inculcate values of critical thinking and problem-solving among its students. Therefore, the students must note that rote learning may not be too much help when it comes to getting that perfect score in the class 10th board exam.

Now, the first step to start the preparation to score well in CBSE Class 10th Board Exam is to be familiar with the syllabus, exam pattern, chapter-wise weightage and all the important topics.
