Many advanced topics in Class 12, like Electrostatics or Modern Physics, are linked with Class 11 concepts such as Laws of Motion and Work-Energy.

Physics also checks your problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and numerical ability.

Class 11 Physics Important Chapters:

Here are the chapters from Class 11 Physics that are most important for competitive exams:

1. Kinematics:

This is one of the first and most important topics in Physics. It deals with the description of motion without considering the forces behind it.

Topics include motion in a straight line, motion in a plane, displacement, velocity, acceleration, and projectile motion.

Graph-based questions (displacement-time, velocity-time) are very common in exams.

Relative velocity and problems on projectiles (like maximum height, range, time of flight) are frequently asked in JEE, NEET, and NDA.

2. Laws of Motion:

This chapter introduces Newton’s laws of motion and their applications.

y = x³−3x+2 at the point where the tangent is horizontal.

Why it’s hard:

You have to differentiate, find where the slope is zero, and then plug that into the normal formula.

Tip to Solve:

Differentiate to get dy/dx

Set dy/dx=0 to find the x-value of horizontal tangent

Use the point-slope form of a line to find the normal

Problem 3: 3D Geometry—Distance Between Skew Lines

Find the shortest distance between the lines

General Tips to Tackle Challenging Class 12 Maths Problems

Master the basics first. Make sure your fundamentals are strong before jumping into tough problems.

Visualize the question. Sketch graphs, draw vectors, or make a probability tree to better understand the problem.

Break the question into steps. Don’t try to solve everything at once—modular thinking is key.

Practice daily. Consistency matters more than cramming.

Review your mistakes. Every tough problem you fail to solve is a chance to learn faster.

Chapter-Wise Strategy for Class 12 Maths Success

Send it to the number provided by CBSE

You’ll receive your result via text message

How to Calculate Your CBSE Class 10 2025 Percentage?

Once you get your marksheet, calculating your overall percentage is simple. CBSE gives marks out of 100 for each subject, and typically 5 subjects are considered for percentage calculation.

Step-by-Step Method:

Add the marks of your top 5 main subjects (typically English, Hindi, Maths, Science, Social Science)

Divide the total by 5

The result is your percentage

Example:

Subject

Marks

English

95

Hindi

88

Maths

91

Science

89

Social Science

93

Total = 95 + 88 + 91 + 89 + 93 = 456
Percentage = 456 ÷ 5 = 91.2%

If you’ve taken a 6th subject, CBSE considers the best 5 subjects automatically for calculating your result status (pass/fail). But for calculating your own percentage, use the top 5 scoring subjects.

CBSE Class 10 Subject-Wise Preparation Strategy:

CBSE Class 10 Mathematics:

Mathematics is often considered one of the most difficult subjects among students because it involves many theorems, formulas, rules, etc. It requires in-depth understanding, conceptual clarity, and rigorous practices. However, experts say that mathematics is a scoring subject, and only students have to understand the concepts, use questions using techniques and not just mechanically solve the questions.

The mathematics paper is worth 80 marks and consists of objective and analytical questions ranging from 1 mark to 5 marks.

CBSE Class 10 Science:

The CBSE Class 10 science curriculum includes physics, chemistry, and biology. Many students find science interesting, while some consider it difficult. Whether you find it interesting or challenging, science is not just a subject but a tool that empowers you to develop your interests and lay the groundwork for rational thinking, logical reasoning, and critical analysis.

CBSE Class 10 Science Exam 2025 evaluates for 100 marks—80 for the theory-based exam and 20 for practicals and projects.
CBSE Class 10 Social Science:

Social Science is another subject students are afraid of; it is quite theoretical. Students usually struggle with past incidents, the complexities of the Earth, various past and current political discussions, and economic trends.

Social Science follows an integrated curriculum that includes History, Political Science, Geography, and Economics. The social science exam assesses students’ understanding and knowledge of the subject. The exam asked diverse questions, such as MCQs, one-word answers, short and long answers, map-based questions, and more. This diversity ensures that students are prepared and equipped for the subject.

Preparation Tips:

Make Notes: Create crisp and concise notes for each chapter, highlighting the important dates, events, and other key points.

Practice Writing: As social science is purely a theoretical subject, it is important to practice writing long answers to improve your writing speed and clarity.

Understand Events: Try to understand historical events’ sequence and cause-effect relationships.

Map Work: Practice map work regularly, as it is an integral part of the Geography syllabus.

Revise Regularly: Regular revision is essential for memorising information, especially for subjects with ample theoretical content like social science.

CBSE Class 10 English & Hindi:

English and Hindi are the scoring subjects in the CBSE Class 10 board exams. Students often overlook these language subjects, and this overconfidence can hamper their performance in the exam. The curriculum of Hindi and English subjects includes reading, listening, writing and speaking skills.

The theoretical exam for language subject is of 80 marks and consists of three sections-

Section A (Reading): Comprises of unseen paragraphs

Section B (Grammar & Writing)

Section C (Literature)

Out of 100, 20 marks are allocated for internal assessment.

Preparation Tips:

Read Thoroughly: Read the NCERT textbooks thoroughly to understand the themes, plots, and characters. Write down the summary for the last time revision.

Grammar Practice: The language exam has a dedicated section for grammar, which includes questions related to various grammar topics. Regular practice of grammar exercises is essential to enhancing language skills.

Writing Practice: Practice writing essays, notices and letters to improve your writing skills and speed.

Solve Sample Papers: Solving previous years’ question papers is crucial. This not only familiarises you with the exam pattern but also improves your time management, a key skill for any exam.

Improve Vocabulary: Regularly learn new words to enhance your vocabulary, a skill that will boost your confidence and performance in all subjects.

CBSE Class 10 Preparation Road Map:

Getting familiar with the syllabus: Before starting the preparation, it is important to understand the syllabus, go through it, mark the important topics, and start preparing accordingly.

Set Clear Goals: Define your goals in each subject and plan accordingly. Cover the strongest subjects and later follow the subjects that take more time.

Create a Study Plan: Divide your syllabus into manageable sections and allocate time for each.

Consistent Study: Study consistently daily instead of struggling at the last moment.

Gather study materials: To start your studies promptly, collect textbooks, reference books, and previous year’s papers.

Take breaks: Students are advised to take short breaks between their study schedules to refresh their minds.

Mock Tests: Take regular mock tests to assess your preparation and identify areas for improvement.

Join a study group: Discuss doubts and share knowledge with peers.
