Eligibility Criteria for DASA icon

DASA is an initiative by the Government of India. Only NRIs (Non-Resident Indian), foreign nationals and PIOs (Person of Indian Origin) are eligible for the DASA scheme.

To be eligible to apply for the full benefits of the scheme, the applicants are required to fulfil the given eligibility criteria:

Age:

  • Students applying must be born on/ after October 01, 1999 to be eligible for the benefits of the scheme.
  • Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board / University Certificate [Class X or equivalent] or any certificate issued by the Government authorities only will be considered authentic.

Academic Eligibility:

  • The applying students should have passed the qualifying examination, i.e. Senior Secondary [10+2] or equivalent from any system of education as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (www.aiu.ac.in) with the required subjects as detailed below.
  • Students who are appearing for the qualifying examination for the academic year 2023-24 and expect to receive their final results by September 30, 2024, may also apply.
  • Applicants must have completed their Senior Secondary [10+2] or an equivalent with Mathematics, Physics, and one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, or Biology, with at least 75% marks (or a CGPA of 7.5 out of 10) in aggregate, as applicable in their respective boards.

The following foreign examination

12 years General Secondary Education Certificate of the Ministry of Education Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and other Gulf countries have been recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to +2 stage qualification of an Indian Board giving access to the Bachelor Degree programme at Indian Universities.

  • The student applying should have studied- Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/ Bio-technology/ Computer Science/ Biology in 11th AND / OR 12th as applicable in the respective boards.
  • Applicant should have a valid JEE(Main)-2024 rank

Important Note

For Architecture, no candidate shall be admitted to an architecture course unless she/he has passed 10+2 scheme of examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or passed 10+3 diploma examination with mathematics as a compulsory subject.For Planning, no candidate shall be admitted to the planning course unless she/he has passed 10+2 scheme of examination with mathematics

Residential Requirements:

All foreign nationals studying in any country, including India or Indian nationals studying abroad who fulfil prescribed admission criteria, are eligible to apply under DASA scheme. Prescribed admission criteria for Indian Nationals shall be at least two years of education, inclusive of 11th & 12th or equivalent (not beyond), in a foreign country during the last 8 years and must pass the qualifying examination from abroad
