NEET-UG 2026 – Step-by-Step Application Process
Step 1: Registration
- Visit the official NEET website: https://neet.nta.nic.in/
- Click on the ‘New Registration’ link.
- Read all instructions carefully and click on ‘Apply Online’.
- Enter personal details: Name (as per Class X certificate), Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Nationality, Category, etc.
- Provide a valid mobile number and email address (OTP verification will be sent).
- Click on ‘Submit’.
- Your NEET 2026 registration will be completed, and a system-generated Application Number and Password will be displayed and sent to your registered email/mobile.
- Save your login credentials securely. You will need them for all subsequent steps.
Step 2: Fill Online Application Form
- Click on the ‘Click here to log in’ option.
- Log in using your Application Number and Password (Date of Birth).
- Fill in the detailed application form with the following information:
- Personal Details: Confirm name, DOB, gender, category, nationality, etc. (pre-filled from registration).
- Place of Birth: Village/City, District, State, Country.
- Academic Details: Class X, Class XI, and Class XII (or equivalent) – roll number, year of passing, board, school, marks obtained (if declared).
- Parents’ Details: Name, occupation, annual income (for EWS/OBC-NCL candidates).
- Address Details: Permanent address and correspondence address (with PIN code).
- Exam Centre Preferences: Select 4 preferred cities in decreasing order of preference. NTA will allot centres based on availability and preference.
- Exam Medium: Choose the language of the question paper from 13 available languages. This choice is final and cannot be changed later.
- Review all entered details carefully. Most fields cannot be edited after submission.
- Click on ‘Yes, please do’ on the confirmation page to submit the application form.
Step 3: Upload Required Documents
- After submitting the application form, click on the ‘Upload Recent Documents’ link.
- Upload scanned copies of required documents as per specifications.
- Ensure each document meets the prescribed size, format, and specification requirements.
- Click on ‘Next’ after all documents are uploaded successfully.
Step 4: Payment of Application Fees

Step 5: Submit and Download Confirmation Page
- After successful fee payment, read the declaration carefully and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- The application status will change to ‘Confirmed’, indicating that your NEET 2026 application has been successfully submitted and accepted by NTA.
- Download the NEET 2026 Application Form and Confirmation Page.
- Take multiple printouts of the confirmation page on A4 size paper. This is a mandatory document for future counselling and admission.
- A confirmation email and SMS will also be sent to your registered email ID and mobile number.
