To appear for JEE Main 2026, candidates must successfully complete the online application form, upload the required documents, and pay the application fee. Candidates intending to appear in both Session 1 (January) and Session 2 (April) must submit separate application forms for each session.

Session 1 (January 2026) has concluded. Candidates who appeared in Session 1 and wish to improve their score are eligible to apply for Session 2 (April 2026). Registration for Session 2 is currently ongoing. Only those candidates who submit the form without errors and complete the fee payment will be issued an admit card and permitted to appear for the computer-based test.

How to Fill JEE Main 2026 Application Form

Follow the step-by-step process below to complete your JEE Main 2026 registration:

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in and click on ‘JEE Main 2026 Registration’.
  2. New Registration: Create a new account using your name, valid mobile number, and email address. A system-generated application number and password will be sent to your registered contact details.
  3. Fill Application Form: Log in using your credentials and complete the application form with accurate personal, academic, and communication details.
  4. Select Exam Centre: Choose your preferred exam centre cities in order of priority. Overseas candidates should select from the list of international exam centres.
  5. Upload Documents: Upload scanned images of your photograph, signature, and Class 10 mark sheet as per the prescribed format and size limits.
  6. Pay Application Fee: Pay the applicable fee online through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
  7. Print Confirmation Page: After successful submission and fee payment, download and print the confirmation page for future reference. The confirmation page will also be sent to your registered email ID.

Documents Required for JEE Main 2026 Application

Candidates must keep the following documents ready before starting the application process to avoid errors or delays:

  • Photograph: Scanned in JPG/JPEG format, 10 kb to 300 kb.
  • Signature: Scanned in JPG/JPEG format, 10 kb to 50 kb.
  • Class 10 Marksheet: Scanned in PDF format, 10 kb to 300 kb.
  • Category Certificate: SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS certificate (if applicable).
  • Photo ID Proof: Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, PAN Card, Bank Passbook with photograph, or valid School ID.
  • Educational Certificates: Class 10 and Class 12 certificates or mark sheets.
  • Payment Details: Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI for fee payment.

JEE Main 2026 Application Correction Window

NTA provides a limited correction window for candidates to edit certain fields in their submitted application forms. Candidates must be extremely careful while filling the form initially, as not all fields are editable during the correction window.

How to make corrections:

  1. Visit the official JEE Main website and log in using your application number and password.
  2. Click on the ‘Application Correction’ link (active only during the correction window).
  3. Edit the permitted fields that require correction.
  4. Review the changes carefully and submit the corrected form.
  5. Download and save the updated confirmation page.

Note: A correction fee may be applicable for certain changes. Candidates are advised to verify all details before final submission.

How to Check JEE Main 2026 Application Status

After submitting the application form and fee, candidates can verify the status of their application by following these steps:

  1. Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  2. Click on ‘Login’ and enter your Application Number and Password.
  3. The application status will be displayed on the dashboard.
  4. A ‘Successful Submission’ status confirms that your application has been accepted by NTA.

Important Instructions for Overseas / NRI Candidates

  • NRI, PIO, OCI, and Foreign National candidates must select the ‘Outside India’ fee category while paying the application fee.
  • Candidates applying under the DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) or CIWG (Children of Indian Workers in Gulf) schemes should ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before applying.
  • The name entered in the application form must exactly match the name as it appears on the passport and other supporting documents.
  • Overseas candidates must carefully select their preferred exam centre from the list of international cities where JEE Main 2026 will be conducted.
