JEE Advanced 2026 Application Process

JEE Advanced 2026 registration is the gateway to securing admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the BTech programme at IISc Bengaluru. For 2026, the examination is being conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB).

The application process is completely online and will be available on the official website https://jeeadv.ac.in/. Only candidates who rank among the top 2,50,000 qualifiers in JEE Main 2026 are eligible to register.

JEE Advanced 2026 – Registration Windows

IIT Roorkee has announced two separate registration windows for JEE Advanced 2026:

Important: The registration portal closes on May 2, 2026 at 23:59 IST. No applications will be accepted after this deadline under any circumstances.

JEE Advanced 2026 – Step-by-Step Application Process

The JEE Advanced 2026 application process is streamlined into four main steps. Candidates must follow each step carefully to ensure successful submission.

Step 1: Log In to the Registration Portal

  • Visit the official website: https://jeeadv.ac.in/
  • Click on ‘New Registration’ / ‘Candidate Portal’.
  • For Indian candidates (JEE Main qualifiers): Log in using your JEE Main 2026 Application Number and Password (or Date of Birth). Your personal and academic details from JEE Main will be auto-populated.
  • For Foreign National & OCI/PIO(F) candidates: Complete the separate direct registration form by providing name, date of birth, nationality, passport details, and email ID.

Step 2: Fill in the Application Form

  • Personal Details: Verify and update your full name, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, date of birth, category (General/EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD), and nationality.
  • Contact Details: Provide a valid email address, mobile number (both primary and alternate), and complete correspondence address with PIN code.
  • Academic Details: Enter your Class XII (or equivalent) roll number, board name, year of passing (2025 or 2026), and percentage/CGPA (if result declared).
  • Exam Centre Preferences: Select up to 10 cities/towns in order of priority from the list of 223 exam centres (including Dubai and Kathmandu for international candidates).
  • Language Preference: Choose the medium of question paper – English or Hindi.
  • PwD / Scribe Request: If applicable, indicate your PwD status and scribe requirements. The window to choose a scribe is May 16, 2026.

Step 3: Upload Required Documents

All documents must be uploaded in PDF format (individual file size: 50 KB to 300 KB). Scanned images must be clear and legible.

Class XII (or equivalent) Certificate Mark sheet and pass certificate (if result declared). Candidates awaiting results must upload later by September 30, 2026.
Category Certificate Required only for SC / ST / OBC-NCL / GEN-EWS candidates (valid format as per Government of India)
PwD Certificate Only for candidates who have opted ‘Yes’ for PwD status
Scribe Request Letter Only for candidates who have opted ‘Yes’ for scribe assistance (to be uploaded in prescribed format)
Compensatory Time Request Letter Only for candidates who have opted ‘Yes’ for compensatory time
DS Certificate Only for candidates who have opted DS (Defence Service) category as ‘Yes’
OCI / PIO Card For candidates whose nationality is OCI or PIO (both sides scanned)
Foreign Passport For Foreign National candidates (first and last page with validity)
Gazette Notification Optional – Only if name has been changed and does not match Class X certificate

Critical: Incomplete registrations (missing documents, incorrect formats, or oversized files) will be automatically rejected without any communication to the candidate.

Step 4: Pay the Application Fee

After completing the registration form and document upload, candidates must pay the application fee online. Payment can be made via Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

Fee payment deadline: Monday, May 4, 2026 (23:59 IST).

Step 5: Download Confirmation Page

  • After successful fee payment, the application confirmation page will be displayed.
  • Download and print multiple copies of the confirmation page for future reference.
  • A confirmation email with the application summary will also be sent to the candidate’s registered email address.
  • Candidates who do not receive the confirmation email must check their spam folder and ensure their email ID was entered correctly.

JEE Advanced 2026 – Application Fee Structure

IIT Roorkee has revised the application fee for JEE Advanced 2026. The fee is non-refundable and must be paid separately by each candidate. The fee covers both Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Important Update: The application fee for candidates opting for foreign exam centres has been increased by USD 50 across all categories for JEE Advanced 2026.

JEE Advanced 2026 – International Exam Centres

For 2026, JEE Advanced will be conducted at TWO international locations:

  • Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE)
  • Kathmandu, Nepal

Candidates opting for these centres must pay the revised foreign centre application fee as detailed above. All other exam day regulations and eligibility criteria remain identical to candidates appearing in India.
