To successfully participate in the Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) 2026 counselling process, candidates must strictly adhere to the official schedule. 1. When will the DASA 2026 counselling schedule be officially released?
The official schedule will be published in the DASA 2026 Information Brochure, expected to be released in April – May 2026 on the official website dasanit.org.
2. Are the dates mentioned on this page final?
No. The dates provided are tentative and expected based on previous years’ trends. Candidates must refer to the official DASA 2026 brochure for the confirmed schedule.
3. Can I apply for DASA 2026 if I am appearing for Class XII in 2026?
Yes. Candidates appearing for Class XII in 2026 are eligible to apply. Such candidates are granted provisional admission subject to submission of passing certificates by September 30, 2026.
4. What happens if I miss the choice locking deadline?
If you fail to lock your choices manually, the last saved choices will be locked automatically at the deadline. However, it is strongly recommended to explicitly lock your choices.
5. Is there any negative marking for declining a seat?
No. Declining a seat in any round does not affect your merit or rank. However, declining a seat in Rounds 1, 2, or 3 makes you ineligible for the Special Round.
6. Can NRI candidates apply under CIWG quota if their parent works in a Gulf country?
Yes, provided the candidate meets all CIWG eligibility conditions, including studying Class XI and XII in a Gulf country and submitting valid documents of parental employment in 2026.
7. Will there be a fourth round of seat allotment in DASA 2026?
Generally, DASA conducts three main rounds, followed by Internal Sliding and a Special Round (if seats remain vacant). A fourth main round is unlikely.
8. How will I know my seat allotment result?
You must log in to the DASA portal (dasanit.org) on the scheduled allotment date. No emails or SMS alerts are sent.
