DASA 2026 Fee and Refund Policy

Candidates applying under the Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) 2026 scheme are required to pay the registration fee and first semester tuition fee at the time of filling the online application form. The fee structure varies based on the admission category and is subject to change as per the official DASA 2026 Information Brochure.

DASA 2026 – Fee Structure

SAARC Countries – 50% Tuition Fee Waiver

Foreign Nationals belonging to SAARC countries (except India) are eligible for a 50% tuition fee waiver, provided they have passed their qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in a SAARC country. Such candidates are required to pay:

  • Non-refundable Registration Fee: USD 300
  • First Semester Tuition Fee (after 50% waiver): USD 2,000
  • Total Payable with Application: USD 2,300

List of SAARC Countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka.

Note: Indian nationals are not eligible for the SAARC category. Indian nationals residing abroad must apply under NRI/CIWG categories as applicable.

DASA 2026 – Refund Policy

The DASA 2026 refund policy strictly governs the circumstances under which the tuition fee (or part thereof) is refunded. The registration fee of USD 300 is non-refundable under all circumstances.

All refunds, when applicable, will be processed only through SWIFT / NEFT / RTGS transfer. No cash refunds will be provided under any circumstances.

Detailed Explanation of Refund Conditions

1. Full Refund (100% Tuition Fee)

a) Withdrawal before fee payment deadline:
Candidates who withdraw their application on or before the last date of fee payment (as published in the DASA 2026 schedule) are eligible for a full refund of the tuition fee. The registration fee of USD 300 is non-refundable.

b) No seat allotment:
Candidates who do not receive any seat allotment across all rounds of counselling (Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, Internal Sliding, and Special Round) are eligible for a full refund of the tuition fee.

c) Ineligibility determined at application stage:
Candidates who are found not eligible by the DASA coordinating institute during application scrutiny (e.g., failure to meet nationality, age, academic, or residential requirements) are eligible for a full refund of the tuition fee. The registration fee remains non-refundable.

2. Partial Refund (50% Tuition Fee)

a) Seat allotted but declined:
Candidates who are allotted a seat in any round (Round 1, 2, or 3) and explicitly choose the ‘Decline’ option for that allotment within the specified deadline are eligible for a 50% refund of the tuition fee.

Important: Candidates who accept a seat (‘Accept’ or ‘Accept & Upgrade’) and later decide not to join are not eligible for any refund.

3. No Refund (0% Tuition Fee)

a) Acceptance of seat followed by non-joining:
Once a candidate accepts an allotted seat (by selecting ‘Accept’ or ‘Accept & Upgrade’), the seat is confirmed in their name. If the candidate subsequently decides not to join the institute for any reason, no refund of tuition fee is provided.

b) Provisional admission – failure to submit documents:
Candidates who are granted provisional admission based on their JEE Main 2026 rank (with Class XII results awaited) must submit their final qualifying examination results and all other required documents by the prescribed deadline, typically September 30, 2026. Failure to submit documents or being found ineligible based on final results will result in cancellation of admission and forfeiture of the full tuition fee.

c) Withdrawal after joining:
Candidates who report to the allotted institute, complete admission formalities, and later withdraw for any personal or academic reasons are not entitled to any refund of tuition fee.

d) Special Round allotment:
Candidates who are allotted a seat in the Special Round of DASA counselling are not eligible for any refund under any circumstances, even if they decline the seat or do not join.

Mode of Refund – SWIFT / NEFT / RTGS

All eligible refunds under DASA 2026 will be processed through electronic bank transfers only:

  • For International Candidates: Refunds will be processed via SWIFT transfer to the candidate’s bank account abroad.
  • For Candidates with Indian Bank Accounts: Refunds will be processed via NEFT or RTGS to the candidate’s Indian bank account.

Candidates must ensure that accurate bank account details (account holder name, account number, IFSC code, SWIFT code, bank address, etc.) are provided in the DASA application portal at the time of registration. DASA is not responsible for refund delays due to incorrect bank details provided by the candidate.

2. I have been allotted a seat but I want to withdraw. Will I get a refund?

3. I am a provisional candidate. My Class XII results are delayed beyond September 30, 2026. What happens to my admission and fee?
You must submit your final results by September 30, 2026. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of admission and forfeiture of the full tuition fee. No extension of this deadline is granted.

4. I was allotted a seat in the Special Round but I wish to decline. Will I get a refund?
No. Candidates allotted seats in the Special Round are not eligible for any refund, even if they decline the seat or do not join.

5. How long does it take to process a refund?
Eligible refunds are typically processed within 4 to 6 weeks after the conclusion of the entire DASA counselling process. Delays may occur due to bank processing times, especially for international SWIFT transfers.

6. Can I get a refund if I am found ineligible after provisional admission?
No. If you are granted provisional admission based on JEE Main rank but are found ineligible after verification of your Class XII marks or other documents, your admission will be cancelled and no refund will be provided.

7. I am a SAARC Foreign National. Do I need to upload any additional documents to claim the 50% fee waiver?
Yes. You must upload proof of SAARC nationality (valid passport) and proof that your qualifying examination (Class XII) was passed from a SAARC country. These documents will be verified by DASA.

8. What is the fee for CIWG candidates?
CIWG candidates pay a non-refundable registration fee of USD 300 and a first semester tuition fee of INR 62,500 (or equivalent in USD). Subsequent semester tuition fees are payable to the respective institutes as per their norms.
