UAE Announces the coveted 10-year Golden Residency Visa to High School Toppers and their Families

Good news for all the NRI students studying in UAE – His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai announced the coveted 10-year Golden Residency Visa for exemplary High School students and their families. It is a long-term residency Visa offered to certain individuals and now to students as well.

That means Indian students studying in the UAE can also apply for this 10-year Golden Residency Visa based on their academic achievements.

The initiative has been taken by the UAE government to recognize and felicitate young scholars and their families. It also aligns with the government’s desire to establish an encouraging and supportive environment for brilliant students, as well as to attract extraordinary, skilled individuals to contribute to the UAE’s overall development.

Applications to claim the visa should be submitted via the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) electronically at https://icp.gov.ae/ . Both public and private school students including expatriates can apply for the Golden Visa.

What is the Golden Visa and its Benefits?

The Golden visa is a long-term renewable residency visa that allows international talents to live, work, and study in the UAE while receiving special perks. The Golden visa is available to investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, excellent students and graduates, humanitarian pioneers, and frontline heroes.

Benefits of Golden Visa:

  • Ten years of renewable residency.
  • Eliminate the need for an employer or a sponsor.
  • The visa holder’s stay outside the UAE is not limited to six months; the visa is not canceled if the holder stays outside the nation for more than six months.
  • No age restriction applies to family members of visa holders, including spouses and children.
  • There is no maximum age limit for applying for visas/work permits for domestic employees.

Eligibility Criteria for 10-year Residency Visa:

High school students who have scored at least 95% average marks in the general high school certificate or its equivalent from public or private schools are eligible to apply for the Golden Visa.

In addition, University students from within and outside the country who have a cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average) of no less than 3.75 (or its equivalent) in specific scientific disciplines can also apply.

Expat students can also apply for the Golden Visa which will also include the families of the students as well.
