NTA Releases Provisional Answer Key & Response Sheet for JEE Main 2024 (Session-1)

The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the provisional Answer Key & Response Sheet for JEE Main 2024 (Session-1) on 6 February.  The JEE Main 2024 Session 1 exam was conducted between 24 January to 1 February 2024 at 544 Centres located in 291 Cities across the Country (including 21 Cities outside India). With this, the candidates have the opportunity to review their responses and evaluate their performance in the examination. 

The Provisional Answer Keys of Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.), Paper 2A (B.Arch.) and Paper 2B (B. Planning), along with the Question Papers with Recorded Responses, have been uploaded on the official website. The last day to challenge the answer key is 08 February 2024, and all challenges must be submitted by 11:00 PM.

Note: Challenges will not be accepted after 11:00 PM on 8 February 2024.

How to Download the Provisional Answer Key & Response Sheet for JEE Main 2024 (Session-1):

Here are the steps to download the provisional answer key for JEE Main 2024 (Session-1):

  1. Visit the Official NTA JEE Main Website: Access the official NTA JEE Main website by going to (www.jeemain.nta.ac.in).
  2. Log In: Log in to your JEE Main account using your application number and password.
  3. Locate the Provisional Answer Key: On the website, you’ll find a section or link labelled “Provisional Answer Key.” Click on it.
  4. Download the Key: Download the provisional answer key, typically available in PDF format. Make sure to save it for reference.

Challenging the Provisional Answer Key:

The NTA provides candidates with a window of opportunity to challenge the provisional answer key if they believe that a response in the key is incorrect. Here’s how to raise an objection:

  1. Visit the Official NTA JEE Main Website: Login to your JEE Main account on the official website.
  2. Raise Objections: Look for the option to challenge the provisional answer key. Click on it.
  3. Select Questions: Choose the questions you wish to challenge due to suspected errors in the answer key.
  4. Provide Justifications: For each question you challenge, provide a detailed justification or explanation for your objection.
  5. Payment of Fees: Please note that there is generally a nominal fee associated with challenging each question. Ensure you pay the fee for the questions you wish to challenge.
  6. Submission: After completing the objection process, submit your challenges.

Important Instructions:

  • Challenges must be submitted within the specified window as outlined by the NTA.
  • The fee for challenging each question is typically non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the challenge.
  • The NTA reviews all challenges, and if a challenge is found to be valid, the answer key is updated accordingly.
  • The final answer key, released after reviewing all challenges, is used for calculating candidates’ JEE Main scores.

The release of the provisional answer key is a significant milestone for JEE Main 2024 (Session-1) candidates. It provides an opportunity to verify responses, assess performance, and ensure the correctness of the evaluation process.
